NATIONAL INTERBRANCH TASK FORCE ON EFFECTIVE AND SUSTAINABLE LONG-TERM CARE (2022)

The CSG Long-Term Care Workforce Network is an expansion of a long-term care task force with Arizona, Georgia, Hawaii, Indiana, Minnesota, New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia, assembled as part of a 2022 project supported by the Commonwealth Fund. During eight virtual meetings with the full task force and one state-curated conversation for each of the eight participating states, task force members examined three focus areas in long-term care that are highlighted in the guide:

  • State Regulation of Long-Term Services and Supports Facilities.
  • Optimizing American Rescue Plan Act Spending on Home- and Community-Based Services.
  • Revitalizing the Direct Care Workforce and Supporting Family Caregivers.

Those focus areas are detailed in the CSG Long-Term Care Policy Guide.

Additional details on the third focus area, which is the focus of the Network and the current project, can be found under State Strategies to Revitalize the Long-Term Care Workforce. With the assistance of Network members, CSG seeks to provide regular updates on each strategy and the states that have advanced these policies and others.
