In celebration of Women\u2019s History Month, CSG asked its female members to submit some of their most influential women in history who have inspired them in their careers and personal lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“In politics, If you want anything said, ask a man. If you want anything done, ask a woman.” \u2014 Margaret Thatcher<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Sen. Rivers: “My favorite historical figure is Margaret Thatcher. You couldn\u2019t be a political-science major in the 1980s, as I was, without becoming aware of \u201cThe Iron Lady\u201d who at the time was holding one of the most important political positions in the world. As a young woman I came to admire her not as much for her political views \u2013 although I do now — as for her leadership principles, and willpower, and wit. It didn\u2019t hurt that she was also the first woman to become British prime minister. My regard for her has only deepened over the decades, as we see how the world has changed, and how no one else like her has come along.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
