Comcast Champions Efforts for People with Disabilities
Associates in Action articles highlight CSG Associates’ philanthropic efforts and public-private partnerships throughout the states.
Comcast, a CSG Associate, continues to work to support customers, employees and communities in response to COVID-19, especially people with disabilities.
In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic and with thousands of schools and businesses operating remotely, hundreds of millions of people around the world of all levels of ability are feeling displaced and disconnected from their normal work and school environments and familiar routines. For many in the disability community, access to the internet, inclusive products and technologies and accessibility features are important to remain connected. A priority before and especially during the pandemic, Comcast’s X1 Voice Remote, Xfinity Eye Control and video description capabilities seek to unlock universal design for all.
In honor of the 30th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and to share efforts to create accessibility for all, Tom Wlodkowski, vice president of accessibility at Comcast, will join CSG and the tate Exchange on Employment and Disability (SEED) as part of an upcoming webinar on these issues. The webinar, to be held Oct. 15, will explore advancements in technology that can be used to facilitate telework and provide workplace accommodations.
The ADA webinar “Accessible Transportation and Workplace Technology” is open to state officials and CSG Associates. To register, please visit: https://seed.csg.org/ada30/.
