During these events, invited policymakers could:<\/p><ul><li>Hear presentations from relevant state agencies, subject-matter experts and stakeholders.<\/li><li>Discuss existing state policies and programs.<\/li><li>Identify current best practices and future opportunities.<\/li><\/ul><p>Hawaii and Pennsylvania were among the states that asked CSG to participate in and help plan long-term care summits in February and June 2024. Summits were designed to define the long-term care workforce policy agenda in those states. Requests from legislative or executive branch staff may be accepted under some circumstances. CSG retains ultimate decision-making authority and will consider each request in relation to scheduling, travel costs, member engagement and other factors. The individual or office requesting technical assistance should have the capacity to bring a bipartisan, bicameral, interbranch group of policymakers to the table; coordinate scheduling and promotion of the event; identify the specific focus of the discussion and need for assistance; and the stakeholder groups and subject-matter experts it might be helpful to hear from. The requesting individual or office must also be able to provide a suitable venue for the technical assistance site visit (i.e., committee hearing room at the state capitol, etc.).
