SUMMARY:Innovation Classroom: Advanced Recycling as a Pathway to Plastics Circularity
DESCRIPTION:Register to View Recording \nInnovation Classroom sponsored by the American Chemistry Council. \nA wave of new advanced recycling investments has been announced in the U.S. and nine states have recently reformed their laws to attract these technologies to their states. Innovative\, new advanced recycling technologies convert post-use plastics into plastic and chemical feedstocks\, specialty chemicals and products like waxes and transportation fuels. These rapidly commercializing technologies provide opportunities to create a cleaner environment and new jobs. Join the American Chemistry Council and a leading advanced recycling company\, Agilyx\, to learn more about the technologies and how we’ll create a more circular economy for plastics. \nDr. Chris Faulkner\, Chief Technology Officer\, Agilyx \nDr. Faulkner brings over 15 years of technical and organizational expertise on the engineering\, process\, analytics and administrative fronts to deliver products and operating assets.  He has held engineering\, scientist and management positions in the renewable energy and chemicals industry sectors with a focus on sustainability and stewardship.  Dr. Faulkner has a proven track record of commercializing innovations and successful project management.  He is an inventor of novel polymer composite materials and has led the certification and commercialization of the international product launch of a 5 kWe combined heat and power fuel cell system. \nDr. Faulkner brings technical\, commercialization\, innovation\, project management and business acumen to the advancement of the Agilyx Solutions platform of superior materials management and chemical recycling. Dr. Faulkner holds a doctorate in Chemical Engineering from Vanderbilt University. \nMs. Prapti Muhuri\, Manager\, Recycling & Recovery\, Plastics Division\, Plastics Division\, American Chemistry Council \nPrapti Muhuri is a Manager of Recycling and Recovery at the American Chemistry Council (ACC) and is responsible for helping plastics resin manufacturers achieve their circular economy goals. Prapti also leads the Advanced Recycling Alliance for Plastics\, an organization of the leading chemical recycling companies in North America. Prior to joining ACC\, Prapti worked for the National Institutes of Health focusing on alcohol-related research in epidemiology and prevention. \n
